OASIS is a multi-generational mentorship program being offered
right here in the Miramichi through NBCC. It is a little different from mentorship programs you may have heard about
in the past as OASIS is based on the specific and unique needs of the individual mentee. This program will offer the
resources and guidance necessary to explore their entrepreneurial goals. Wondering if you’d like to be part of

KidSport Miramichi is a confidential organization that helps families needing assistance in paying sport registration fees.
KidSportis a children’s charity administered by Sports NB. The objective is to assist families facing financial
obstacles to participate in community sport programs. Their deadline for applications is Sept 30th, 2014. All
completed applications will be looked at for sponsorship. Applications can be picked up at the City Hall, the Golden
Hawk Recreation Center and the Miramichi Community Wellness and Recreation Department. Forms can also be found on the

The Miramichi Rotary Community Band is looking for new members. Miramichi's only brass and
reed band practices weekly from September to June. The band has been together since 1995 and performs locally at graduations

Nominations are now being accepted for the 3rd annual ‘Women of Influence Night’ to be held on Saturday
November 29. WOMEN is Miramichi’s only female entrepreneurial network serving the greater Miramichi area.
Nominations for the award categories of Female Entrepreneur of the Year, Female Professional of the Year and Women of Influence
are now being accepted. WOMEN is a membership-based network, however nominees, as well as the person sending in the
nomination, do not have to be a member of WOMEN. Details of each award can be found at www.womenofmiramichi.com. Once the nominations close on October
22, a selection committee will narrow down each category to three finalists based on the information received for the nominator. The three finalists in each category will be announced October 31. For

Idol Coming to Miramichi! Open to all ages! Now into their 9th season, they are searching for talent in the Miramichi.
Get exposure and win a 12 song cd recording. First place is $2000, second place is $1000 and third place is $500.
Contestants must register online at www.maritimeidol.com. Performances are videotaped and put online for voting and there is also live voting each week by the audience.
Rankings are combined and accumulated over the 4 weeks to determine the top half moving on with winners from other area competitions
to face the judges at a Regional competition.

The CBC Galaxy Rising Star recipient Matchstick Mike & The Chain Smokin' Alter Boys and special guests
Mindy Ward and George Paul will be kicking off fundraising efforts with an evening
of music for the soul at the Riverside Entertainment Center, 2546 King George Highway, in support of the development
of a community food bank and in support of the other local foods banks. Doors open at 6:30pm and tickets will be
on sale at the REC and at Cloud's Convenience or they can be purchased at the door for $10. A non perishable food item will also
be accepted at the time of the event.

Resources Miramichi will be having a Bag Day Fundraiser at the Newcastle Superstore location between 12:00pm - 4:00pm.
Volunteers are needed to help bag groceries for donations to raise funds for the center . If you can spare 2 hours for
this event please contact the center by email or phone at 506-622-8137. The event is only for 4 hours on Saturday
and they are hoping to get enough volunteers to be present at least 6-8 cashier stations. This would be a nice activity
that a parent and child can do together while supporting a great cause! Please contact the Autism Resource Centre ASAP

cameras etc. will be accepted. Items NOT accepted: Washers, dryers, toasters, microwaves, vacuums, refridgerators,
Air conditioners or small kitchen appliances. This is a residential collection, commercial & industrial waste WILL
NOT be accepted. Please do not leave items prior to the event.
