The Rotary Club of Newcastle have announced that they have completed their website preparations and now everyone is welcome to register online for the “Rotary Atlantic Washer Toss Championship”!  This activity will be jsut one event at the Rotary Spring Festival in Miramichi the weekend of MAY 22-24.  To register, please look under “Washer Toss” on the official website  Washer toss entries will be teams of two at a cost of $80 and guaranteed a minimum six games under a triple elimination format on Saturday, followed by a double elimination format for the division finalists on
Sunday. The winning team will walk away with a cash prize of $1000 and a paid entry into the World event in August while the second and third place teams will also receive cash prizes.  The “Rotary Atlantic Washer Toss Championship” has been sanctioned by the World Washer Toss Championship.

The Greater Blackville Resource Center is pleased to announce that they will be partnering
with local church groups and service groups for the 'Soups On, Again!' program.  The
community is invited to come and enjoy a free lunch from 11:30am to 1:00pm at the

Miramichi Twins Baseball will be having March Madness Early Registration during the month of March for Rally Cap Junior &
Rally Cap Senior.  The cost is only $35 which includes a t-shirt and rally cap program hats.  The early registration is for boys & girls born in 2007, 2008, 2009 & 2010 with morning or evening sessions available.  The registration rate after April 1st is $65.  For more details visit

Cribbage is held every Thursday evening at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Quarryville with registration between 7:00pm & 7:30pm when the games begin.  All are welcome.

The Smokers Anonymous Support Group will hold its meeting on Thursdays at 7:00pm at the Miramichi Regional Hospital, in the Hyland Theater, 500 Water Street.   All smokers, non-smokers,
and those wanting to quit smoking, are welcomed to attend this FREE support group.  Please help spread the word by inviting your family and friends to attend.  These meetings are designed as a way for the group to offer support and encouragement to one another to quit or refrain from smoking.  For more information call 506-627-7565 or email

An Overcomers group will meet every Tuesday at 7:30pm at the Village of Blackville Office.  
 Overcomers is a scripture based program for individuals and families suffering from ANY addictive behaviors such as: alcoholism, drugs, pornography, gambling, anger, overspending, past pain, control issues, low self esteem, overeating, smoking, fear, shame ect.  It is TOTALLY anonymous and all are welcome.  For more details or for any questions, please contact Ted  506-843-2545

Goji's Frozen Yogurt Miramichi is holding a fundraiser in support of Autism Resources Miramichi Inc. from 6:00pm - 9:00pm.  During those hours 20% of the sales between will be donated to Autism Resource Miramichi.  Bring all of your friends!

St. James and St. John United Church is preparing for its Good Friday drama presentation,
“We Will Remember”, presented by St. James & St. John Players. The Easter Drama 'Nicodemus - The Distant Disciple' will be performed at the Miramichi

The Miramichi Chamber of Commerce will be having a special Lunch & Learn at the Rodd

Tim Neufeld and the Glory Boys will be performing Live at the Vogue Theatre at 7:00pm.  Tim Neufeld, lead singer for the Canadian Rock band Starfield, launches a solo music career which sees him going back to his roots. With a joyful mix of bluegrass, hymns and modern choruses his concerts have best been described as a Worship Hoedown. This is a concert for all ages and is guaranteed to lift your spirits and get your feet tapping.

There will be a Employer Breakfast Forum happening at 7:30am at the Rodd Miramichi
River Hotel.  The forums topic is "Making Your Business More Profitable with an Inclusive Workforce".  The event is funded by the government of Canada and the province of NB through the Canada-NB Labour Market Agreement.  Save the Date!

The NBCC Wellness Committee is having a yard sale in the gymnasium at the college (80 University Avenue, Miramichi) from 8:30am - 1:00pm.   Cost for renting a table is $5 with set up being the evening before from 5:00pm - 9:00pm.  If you are interested in renting a table, please call Rhona at 506-778-6045 but hurry, limited number of tables are available!
