September 26, Monday
Fall Senior Bingo will be starting from 1:00pm – 3:00pm at the Lindon Recreation Center.  10 games for $2 with prizes to be won and Tea & coffee provided.  Bring your own dabber!

September 27, Tuesday
There is a weekly prayer & bible study that happens at the Boom Road Pentecostal Church, every
Tuesday night.  From 6:30pm - 7:00pm there is prayer and from 7:00pm - 8:00pm the bible study called "A Walk in the Word" happens with Gerald and Fay Regan.  All are welcome.

September 27, Tuesday
There is a weekly Bible study that happens at Hillside Church in Blackville starting at 7:00pm.  Everyone is welcome to attend.

September 28, Wednesday
Come and learn how to Square Dance!  The new River Weavers Square Dance Club invites you to join us for a fun evening with lots of laughter, great fun, gentle activity, and to meet new people. Everyone welcome - no partner required.  Weekly beginner classes start on September 14th and continue every Wednesday evening from 7:00pm - 9:00pm at 24 Princess Street at Duke, Caring Friends Activity Centre, Chatham. Cribbage will be held every Thursday night at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Quarryville beginning at 7:30pm.  Registration is at 7pm. 

October 11, Tuesday
The Miramichi Naturalists’ Club will hold its monthly meeting at the Senior Citizens Center, 26 Sutton Rd. in Nelson starting at 6:30pm. The club meets on the second Tuesday of every month, Sept. to June. The monthly meetings give members and opportunity to share their interests in nature and share their knowledge, receive presentations on topics of mutual interest from guest speakers, plan outings and enjoy an informal time together. New members are very welcome.

There will be a  yard sale each day from 10:00am - 4:00pm at 47 Church Street in Chatham, rain or shine.  Lots of household items, antiques and goodies.

September 30, Friday
The Miramichi Hoedown will be happening at the Miramichi Folklore Park in Renous starting at 6:00pm.  In a repeat of a show that went over really well last year, this show will have fine musicians performing and will feature The Country Cousins as well as The River Weavers Square Dancing Clubs. Anyone interested in joining one of these groups to learn how to square dance can call Marion Green at 776-8896 (Burnt Church) or Deborah Kearney at 352-0727 (Chatham).

Firefly studio will hold an open house and mini demonstration of watercolors from 10:00am - 2:00pm during Culture Days New Brunswick.  Located in Derby/Millerton, 12 minutes west of Miramichi, right on the Miramichi River.  Look for the Banner on the fence.  Featured artists will be Laura Lea Comeau, Dee Goforth and Stacy Underhill.  For more details call 506-352-2777.

Culture Days Paint Out in Town Square will be happening where artists in the Miramichi area will be painting outside from 10:00am - 2:00pm and encouraging others to join in by picking up a paint brush and painting on an easel. All welcome and it will be free of charge. Weather Permitting.

The Miramichi - Newcastle Photo Walk 2016 will be happening.  This will be the third Worldwide Photowalk in Miramichi and they are going to meet in the parking lot at 45 Waterfront Drive in Miramichi, which is the former Cowboy’s restaurant, at 3:45pm. From there, they will walk over to Ritchie Wharf, then over to Mary Street where they’ll walk west to approx. the Irving. They’ll go back on Pleasant Street to Queen Elizabeth Park where they’ll spend some time, then all meet up at Chatters for some refreshments and socializing.  Please remember: Safety First! It’s easy to get carried away when you’re doing what you love (photography) so remember to have your head up and be aware of traffic. Dress appropriately for the conditions and remember to bring a hat, jacket, whatever you’re going to need. Comfortable shoes are a good idea as well.  As for what you bring…. That’s up to you but remember that you have to lug it around for the whole photowalk so equip yourself for your own ability and within your own limitations.  Let’s all have a fun and safe time!  Sign up:

Cranksgiving is part bike ride, part food drive and it is a great way to get active while giving back to your community! The event is simple: you show up to the grocery store (Atlantic Superstore in Newcastle) at 11:00am and purchase items that are needed at the Eel Ground Food Bank. Then, bike them out to the Eel Ground Food Bank located approximately 5.5km away.
There are prizes for Most Dollar Value Donated, Most Pounds Donated (by bike), and Most Points Donated.  Additionally, there will be a raffle for prizes from Incline Sports, Sportchek, and Crossfit Pound. Tickets will be $2 each or 3 for $5. Additionally, tickets will be given for each food item donated by non-riders. All proceeds going to the food bank.

The Miramichi Valley Bible Camp will be having a fundraising yard sale from 8:00am - 12:00pm.  They will have some very interesting items for sale.  Come and browse through the items and enjoy a coffee.

There will be a pancake breakfast from 8:00am – 11:00am at the United Church Center, 556 King George Highway, Miramichi.  On the menu:  pancakes, sausages, beans, tea/coffee, juice.  $7.50 adults, $5 for children under 12.

St. Paul's Anglican Church, 750 Water Street in Miramichi, will be hosting a fall supper from 4:00pm - 6:30pm.  Cost is $12 per person or $6 for children under 11, take outs are available and there is ramp and elevator access.

The Central New Brunswick Woodmen’s Museum in Boiestown, will be holding a Fundraising Breakfast from 8:00am - 11:00am.  Eggs, Bacon, Sausage, Pancakes, Home fries, Coffee/Tea Juice will be served and the cost is by donation.  Proceeds are to help pay Museum operating expenses in the winter months. The Atlantic Salmon Museum will host the 33rd annual Hall of Fame Dinner and Ceremony at the Doaktown Curling Club, 29 Prospect Street in Doaktown.  Beginning at 4:30pm with a Meet n’ Mingle and followed by a buffet dinner and the induction ceremony itself, the evening promises to be a memorable one with a variety of silent, Chinese and live auctions, great food and a heartfelt tribute to six individuals whose lives have been intertwined with that of the Atlantic salmon.  Inductees include:  Harry Bradbury, Gary Colford, Wes Curtis, George McFarland, Joseph Roussel & Ronald Stewart.  Tickets for the Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony are now on sale for $75 but with only a limited number available, it’s wise to reserve yours quickly.  For more information or to reserve your tickets, please contact the Atlantic Salmon Museum at 506-365-7787 or at

The 2016 Walk for Autism and Family Fun Day will be held at the Waterford Green in Chatham from 9:00am - 1:00pm.  There will be music, jumping castle, balloon animals, face painting, petting zoo, pony rides and more!  Please join in for a day of fun to raise awareness and to support a great cause.  The registration for the walk will be at 10:00am and the walk begins at 11:00am.

 Surgeon Denis Betger and his wife Betty will be sharing at 10:00am at River of Life Assembly and 11:00am at Miramichi Fellowship Center, then again at 6:30pm.  They have both traveled extensively and have ministered to heads of state. Every one is welcome to join in.

Miramichi Worldwide will be holding a cold-plate take-out lunch consisting of ham, potato salad, pasta salad, roll, cucumber, tomato & strawberry shortcake for $12.  Pick up available at 188 Wellington St. Chatham or delivery options are available.  Please order by calling 506-773-5459 or any committee member by Sept. 30th. The Whooper Spring Players of the Blackville area are hosting a roast beef dinner with entertainment beginning at 6:00pm.  Following the dinner there will be a two hour show performed by the musicians and singers "Country Blend" who are a 5 person group from Manitoba who perform songs made famous by such legendary country singers such as Johnny Cash, George Jones, Patsy Cline, Loretta Lynn and many more.  The show will be held at the United Church Center at 143 Main Street in Blackville.  The cost of the dinner and entertainment is only $25 and tickets are on sale now by contacting Richard or Alice Gilks at 506-843-6139
